Your
role:
You will assist in the organisation, monitoring, reporting and
production of the annual highway and footway condition surveys and general
structural inspections (including alley gates, bridges, drainage and retaining
walls).
You will also update and maintain our asset records and oversee works
being carried out on site associated with highway and structural maintenance
schemes.
This exciting role will provide the opportunity for you to support the
creation of a well-managed infrastructure that plays a key role in allowing
highway users to travel safely around the borough and connect into the wider
region.
About
you:
Our ideal candidate will have experience of highway asset
management and maintenance, including structural inspections of the council’s
highway assets. You will have experience of ensuring services are undertaken and
completed in accordance with the relevant construction specifications and be IT
literate.
You
must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a
team, with the ability to build and develop positive working relationships with
a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
You should hold a strong sense of purpose, strive to give your best and
can collaborate positively with our service providers and communities.

This exciting secondment role is part of the Network
Management services. We play an integral role in managing and maintaining the
borough’s highway infrastructure which has a value of £1.6bn.
The highway
infrastructure plays a key role in allowing residents, businesses and visitors
to travel safely around the borough and connect into the wider region.
