Salary: Grade 8, £28,221 - £32,233 per annum.
The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

Your
role:
You will be a member of a busy team of Building Inspectors, maintaining a
caseload of applications for Building Regulations approval including some more complex
and challenging projects. You will be expected to proactively seek
opportunities to promote our Building Control services and increase our market
share. Alongside this you will respond to reports of dangerous buildings,
liaising with property owners, external bodies and the council’s Civil
Contingencies team as appropriate to maintain public safety.
You will hold the relationship between the council and developer in respect
of their development proposals, providing an efficient and effective building
control service and representing the service on a range of major projects.

you:
You will be
an effective and proven professional, with experience in a range of building
control applications and be commercially minded. You will be a self- starter,
highly motivated and enthusiastic about development, with a passion to deliver an
effective and responsive service and capable of leading and inspiring teams. This
role will play a key part in the delivery of the Deal for the Future and the
Growth of Wigan Borough.
You will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, along
with the ability and confidence to provide advice and guidance on highly
complex technical matters to residents, colleagues, businesses elected members,
and build positive working relationships. You must be IT literate with the ability
to adapt to new technology.
