Working in partnership with our local NHS and CCG we are looking for people to fill a variety of roles, including:

Adult Support Workers - Supported Accommodation Service

Adult Support Workers - Supporting Adults with Autism, Mayfield Centre of Excellence

We are looking for friendly, caring, compassionate and dependable people to help us through this. That’s where you come in.

You may have never considered a role in the public sector previously, but with many businesses temporarily closing, you will have transferable skills that we need.

Interviews will be held via telephone or video call, with recruiters looking to match your skills to the roles available.

Role 1: Adult Support Workers - Supported Accommodation Service

Hours: Various hours available depending on each property however you will be required to work on a rota basis which will include weekends, bank holidays, sleep-in duties and unsociable hours.

Permanent

Your role:

To support adults with varying level of learning disabilities in their own homes which are different types of models of accommodation across the Wigan and Leigh area. You will be required to work as part of a team ensuring life opportunities are explored which will maximise individual’s potential whilst fulfilling their dreams.

You will encourage customers to realise their goals and aspirations by working in accordance with Wigan Council’s Deal and develop strong links within the community.

About you:

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a team supporting customers within their own homes and you will be offering support with everyday life skills and activities.

Our customers have varying levels of abilities and you will be required to deliver a high standard of care and provide support in accordance with individual support plans.

You will offer support to encourage individual’s to realise their goals and aspirations and you will also assist in developing strong links within the community.

You will hold an NVQ level 2/Care Certificate (or equivalent qualification) or have an equivalent level of experience and be committed to undertake training that would be relevant to your post. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with other professionals, agencies and families developing the trust respect and cooperation in providing high quality care.

You must have the ability to support individuals with a learning disability. An enthusiasm and commitment to offering value based support, focusing on the qualities that each person has.

Role 2: Adult Support Workers - Supporting Adults with Autism, Mayfield Centre of Excellence

Hours: Various hours available however you will be required to work on a rota basis which will include weekends, bank holidays, sleep-in duties and unsociable hours.

To be part of a specialist team of support workers to support customers with Autism to live the life they choose in a new purpose built building.

You will be required to work as part of a team or on a one to one basis offering life opportunities which will maximise individual’s potential whilst fulfilling their dreams. You will encourage customers to realise their goals and aspirations and to develop strong links within the community.

About you:

You will hold an NVQ level 2/Care Certificate (or equivalent qualification) or have an equivalent level of experience and be committed to undertake training in Autism and other training that would be relevant to your post.

You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with other professionals, agencies and families developing the trust respect and cooperation in providing high quality care. You must have the ability to support individuals with Autism and complex support needs and challenging behaviour. You will be committed to the development of the service.

About Mayfield:

Mayfield House Centre of Excellence for Adults with Autism is the first specialist accommodation which is designed specifically for people with Autism, this is a state of the art high specification building which is designed to be user friendly and features the latest technology to help people live comfortably in a supportive environment.  

We are looking for people that can empower autistic individuals to help people achieve and realise their ambitions and playing a key role in helping Wigan a more autism friendly place.
