Your role:


This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of enthusiastic and committed staff who are skilled and experienced in promoting positive outcomes for our care leavers. You will focus on delivering continuous improvement in performance, work alongside our Children in Care Teams to ensure effective and timely transition to adulthood. You will be expected to be creative and lead on Greater Manchester initiatives to improve our Local Offer and GM cross authority agreements. You will lead the delivery of quality practice within your team on a daily basis, ensuring the team comply with legislation and government guidance, so they stand up to scrutiny. We are ambitious, and you will have a key role in our transformation programme, working together with other team managers and our partners to deliver our strength based approach through multi-agency and collaborative working, with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for care leavers through raising practice standards.

About you:

As Team Manager of the Care Leavers and Transition Team, you will be a committed, innovative, confident and energetic leader committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for looked after children and care leavers. You will lead on the delivery, development of high-quality practice and robust performance management systems to ensure that your team is highly effective. You will be responsible for ensuring that Signs of Safety is an embedded as a practice model within the team.
A qualified and experienced social worker, you will also have significant experience as a manager and a proven track record of success, you’ll be ready to take on the crucial task of inspiring and influencing your Team and partners to achieve best possible outcomes for young people leaving care.
You will have excellent knowledge of statutory frameworks and processes as well as relevant leaving care legislation to ensure that your team is highly effective. You will be an excellent communicator, be able to develop and implement team plans, an effective decision maker with a passion to improve the lives for young people in our borough.
