Your role:

In this role you will provide leadership in the delivery of the council’s digital strategy for business, community and delivery of services. You will be a subject matter expert in the tactical and strategic opportunities for the Council to be a ‘digital first’ organisation. 

You will lead strategy development and communicate information about their specialism. You will develop robust governance arrangements, establish and support boards and programmes and in particular support the three assistant directors who champion digital transformation in the council.

You will deliver larger scale projects and programmes and drive the council’s digital strategy and innovative service delivery.

About you:

You will have proven professional success in delivering change or transformation with many years’ experience of managing in a complex challenging, multi-agency environment. You will have experience of overcoming resistance to deliver successful outcomes and using complex business management tools to improve service delivery.

You will have an interest in digital policy development, and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local government. You will have outstanding decision-making skills and be able to come up with innovative solutions. You will display the BeWigan professional behaviours of being positive, accountable and courageous.
