Wigan Athletic Community Trust is recruiting for a Targeted Youth Worker to deliver the Premier League Kicks Targeted project and work with a group of young people involved in or at significant risk of participation involvement in violence alongside other Community Trust youth projects.
You will:
•Work alongside partners to identify and work with young people involved in, or at significant risk of involvement in violence
•Plan and deliver a range of activities and workshops to engage young people and support a positive change in behaviour
•Conduct 1:1 interventions and activities with young people where applicable, identifying their needs and tailoring sessions to support them
•Support the delivery of other youth intervention projects
•Coordinate social action activities for young people ensuring participants are provided with an opportunity to support their community
•Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of the Premier League Kicks Targeted project and compile evidence on the progress of individuals in order to reporting back to key funders.
The successful candidate will:
•Hold a Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) recognised Qualification
•Have experience of working with hard to reach young people in a youth work setting
•Be experienced in working alongside key agencies including youth offending teams, youth services and the police.
•Have a proven track record of effectively implementing new projects involving young people
•Have extensive knowledge on safeguarding and how to ensure the safety of a young person on programme as well as an understanding of risks they may face
