Your role

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of transforming services for children in care and on the edge of care. You will lead the team to ensure the delivery of outstanding residential and outreach services to children young people in care and on the edge of care.
You will be responsible for a multi-disciplinary team, which will provide a range of creative support and placement offers that improve permanence for young people on the edge of care and in care. The service will promote family based care and support our ambition for all Children Looked After (CLA) to be cared for within the Wigan community.

About you:
You will be a committed, passionate individual with a proven track record of improving outcomes for the most vulnerable and complex children and families. You will have a solution-focused positive attitude and hold an appropriate professional based qualification.
You will be part of a high functioning team and will passionately lead our ambitious service offer to improve outcomes for children in care and on the edge of care.
You will be flexible in your approach and required to work evenings, weekends and nights on a rota basis.
You must have a minimum of two years’ experience working with children in a residential setting (within the last 5 years) and at least one year working at a supervisory level. You will have experience in supervising, guiding and supporting staff, managing budgets and completing detailed and analytical reports.
You will have a thorough knowledge of The Children’s Home’s Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, as well as The Children’s Act 1989 and all other relevant legislation and guidance, to operate the home to a Good/Outstanding Ofsted grading.
