Salary: Grade 4, £12,053 - £12,790 per annum. £9.74 - £10.34 per hour
29 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year plus 1 INSET day
We are seeking to appoint the right person to join our cover team to oversee student study during short term teacher absence and who is committed to helping young people realise their full potential. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable, enthusiastic and have the ability to gain students' respect quickly and effectively in a non-confrontational manner.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will maintain an environment for learning and deliver cover lessons across a range of Key Stage 3 & 4 subject. You will respond to questions and generally assist students in undertaking set activities and play a full part in the education and well-being of our students.
When not deployed in the classroom, the cover team undertake Teaching Assistant/Mentoring roles to support teaching and learning.
To be successful in this role, you must be flexible and calm under pressure as no two days will be the same.
The supervision of lessons will include:
Maintaining good order and discipline
Registering students
Delivering and assisting students to complete the work prepared by the classroom teacher or Head of Department
Collecting the completed work and returning to the appropriate person
Ensuring the classroom and surrounding area is left clean and tidy
Consistent application of the school's LEARN policy
