Salary: Grade 9, £32,029 - £36,876 per annum.

 

37 hours per week

 

Your role:

 

You will provide highly specialised assessment, treatment and management of service users who present with physical, learning or mental health needs that impact on their ability to manage within their home environment.  You will identify if there is potential for improvement through joint working with other community therapists, using Reablement Programmes, the use of Equipment and/or Adaptations and Assistive Technology devices.  You will respond to the long-term needs of service users who require major adaptations to their home environment, using your knowledge of function and the impact of the built environment to develop solutions to meet their needs and maintain independence and safety.

The OT role is an essential part of the Integration of Community services as health and social care develop an integrated locality service delivery model.

 

You will work closely with the Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist and other specialists in Occupational Therapy to develop an integrated approach to services, identifying service goals and priorities.

 

About you:

 

You will have a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy with post qualification experience. You will have proven experience of working with people with physical disabilities, and knowledge of a range of equipment and adaptions.

You will be motivated and caring with a passion for providing outstanding services to our service users.  You will be used to working under pressure and will thrive in a busy, fast paced environment.  You’ll be a great communicator who asks the right questions and will be eager to resolve problems and devise solutions in order to achieve positive outcomes for our service users. You will be keen to work with service users, families, colleagues and partner organisations in order to build and maintain good relationships.

The early intervention and prevention service forms part of Integrated Community Services within the Healthier Wigan partnership.

 

The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year
