Together for Adoption is an established Regional Adoption Agency hosted by Wigan Borough Council which provides adoption services for Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan local authorities.

Together for Adoption is seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated Adoption Support Principal Manager, who is passionate about providing support, and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families across the five Partner Local Authorities.

You will lead and manage an experienced team of Adoption Social Workers and Support Staff while also supporting the Service Manager in the development and running of the Regional Adoption Agency.

About you:

You will be an excellent communicator, and a strong supportive team member, who can work collaboratively with colleagues’ strengths. You will need to be confident in your position as a leader to ensure improved service developments and positively challenge when standards, service delivery or practice needs to be reviewed.

You will have significant experience of Adoption as a social worker and experience as a manager of a Social Work Team. Your knowledge of current and prospective adoption legislation, guidance, procedures and practices will be extensive and thorough.
The post holder will be a Social Worker registered Social Work England and will safeguard and protect vulnerable children and adults in accordance with Together for Adoption policies and procedures at all times.
