Engagement Centres - working at either Cavendish Street or Larch Avenue

 

Salary: Grade 3, £12,306 - £13,188 per annum. £8.74 - £9.37 per hour

 

The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

 

33 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year

 

Temporary for 12 months

Your role:

 

Your role is to support the Head of Centres to lead on the development and implementation of our engagement centres to support children and young people appropriately and so allow them to successfully remain in or successfully transition to their mainstream/specialist setting.  You will support other staff in the development of confidence and resilience in our children and young people. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the whole group as well as small groups and individuals to provide support for learning.  A high level of commitment and flexibility is required.

 

About you:

 

You will contribute to the development of our engagement centres to support children and young people appropriately and so allow them to successfully remain in their mainstream/specialist setting.  You will work with staff to deliver the curriculum offer and liaise with mainstream schools and other agencies in order to promote inclusion on behalf of individual pupils.

You will support the specialist provision for all children and young people providing particular help for those with learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, emotional, mental health issues or physical disabilities, as required.  A high level of commitment and flexibility is required.

You will support the vision for inclusion for all and what the centres can achieve in contributing to supporting the development of confidence and resilience in our children and young people.

We work in close collaboration with our schools in the borough and together we believe that this creative approach will reduce exclusions, improve attainment, attendance and more importantly, the emotional health and well-being of our children. The Engagement Centres currently host Key Stage 3 students and we are developing the offer for primary pupils.
