Salary: Grade 10, £36,876 - £40,760 per annum.

37 hours per week.

Your role:

The OD & Strategy service is on an exciting journey to lead and support key transformational programmes and OD initiatives across the Council and wider partners for our Deal 2030. We’ve got an ambitious agenda, big targets and high standards, and we need a Workforce Development Business Partner to transform our current workforce learning and apprenticeship offer.

This is an amazing opportunity to join an award winning team and council where you can make your mark. Using your excellent leadership skills and sound knowledge and understanding of workforce development, you will lead a team that is responsible for interventions that help attract, retain and develop our workforce to be the best they can be.  

From leading the design, development and implementation of a brand new leadership and management programme, to overseeing the effective use of our apprenticeship levy, you’ll have endless opportunities to inject fun, passion and creativity into learning across the Wigan workforce throughout the employee experience. 

About you:    

You must have a good understanding of learning interventions and how workforce development can improve the employee experience as well as supporting the delivery of business objectives.

Experience of commissioning and implementing fun and innovative workforce development programmes to diverse groups of staff will be key and our ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified.
