Temporary to 30 September 2019

Your role:

You will be based in the International Relations Department at the Town Hall in Angers and will maintain and develop twinning links between individuals and local organisations in Wigan and Angers. These links can have an economic, educational, cultural, sports or leisure focus. You will welcome and receive groups of people from Wigan who are visiting Angers on exchanges, visits and organised conferences.  You will co-ordinate an official delegation visit by representatives from Wigan to Angers, liaising with appropriate officers to produce itinerary and book accommodation.

About you:

You will be a fantastic advocate for Wigan and will have broad local knowledge of the borough, its culture and its residents. You will be a great communicator with a passion for public relations and an eagerness to make things happen. You’ll be a self-starter who will look for new opportunities to promote Wigan and to work in new ways that will improve the service.  You will be outgoing, friendly, confidant and approachable and will relish the opportunity to work with a range of people and partners.

About us:

For the past 30 years Wigan has been twinned with the ancient French city of Angers, in the Loire Valley of Western France. The success of our twinning relationship has been built on an annual exchange of Ambassadors.
