37 hours per week

 

Your role:

 

An exciting opportunity has become available for the post of Social Worker in the Specialist Assessment Service. 

 

You will complete children and families assessments under S17 and S47 of the Children’s Act 1989. 

 

You will complete work in line with child in need, child protection and court proceedings prior to case work being transferred over for longer term intervention.

 

You will be working on a busy team covering the whole of the Wigan borough.

 

About you:

 

You will be a motivated and enthusiastic practitioner with the ability to build professional relationships with children and their families.

 

You will have good knowledge and experience in safeguarding children, as well as being able to produce excellent assessments and understand the current changes within children’s social work.

 

You will be resilient, adaptable and capable of working effectively with colleagues from other professional disciplines.

 

You will be an excellent communicator, efficient in time management, report writing and completing assessments as well as a strong team player who values the strength of working in a person centred manner
