Salary: Grade 6 - £21,342 - £24,657 per annum.
The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

Your role:
As a Multi-Skilled Operative you will play a key role in driving the performance of the Building Repairs and Maintenance in-house delivery team, whether it is planned or responsive – void or tenanted properties. You will be responsible for undertaking repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works predominantly on Wigan Council’s housing stock.
You will provide exceptional customer service, be adept at dealing with a range of customers, and be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Council when working in the borough. You will help to drive and improve operational performance and help identify and remove any barriers that could hinder improvement of the service. You will be accountable for your work and have a customer focused approach.
About you:
You will have experience of working in the building or construction industry or related field of activity, especially in relation to local authority, schools and social housing property repairs and maintenance. You need to be a qualified time-served tradesperson in joinery, plastering or electrical works, with skills in an additional trade.
You will be able to work well both independently and as part of a team in order to meet deadlines. It is also important that you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with our customers. You must also be able to apply health and safety knowledge within the workplace and be well organised.
