Salary: Grade 12:- £44,632 - £48,104 per annum

37 hours per week

Your role:

You will have the principle responsibility of managing Wigan Council’s Culture, Arts and Heritage Service, including The Fire Within exhibition space (The Galleries), Schools Cultural Services, Museum of Wigan Life, Trencherfield Mill, the archives service, arts, dance, music and performing arts.  You will continue to develop a holistic, varied and innovative service that enriches our borough, our communities and residents’ lives, increasing cultural opportunities. 

 

You will ensure the delivery of the Council’s five year Cultural Manifesto’s aims and objectives, working closely will cultural partners from across the borough to achieve this.  Furthermore, you will maximise the financial sustainability of the service by researching and developing opportunities to secure funding through grant applications, sponsorships, and donations that secure investment, capital and revenue funding for services.

About you:

You will have a proven track record of delivering service improvements in addition to effective project management skills and the ability to deliver key projects across a range of situations.  You will also have detailed knowledge of best practice and developments in specific areas relating to the functions of this post and a detailed understanding of the value and use of new technologies in improving services and modernising working processes.  The successful candidate will need a thorough understanding of the legislative and key operational issues related to this post.
