Your role:

This is an exciting chance to influence and shape the future of foster care across the 10 Greater Manchester local authorities.  With almost 4,000 of our children living with foster carers or connected carers, this is an opportunity to make a real difference for the lives of many.

Working across Greater Manchester you will be reviewing, redesigning and driving the development and delivery of best practice and opportunities to work differently together. You will also develop ambitious Greater Manchester wide standards for delivery and support to foster carers and connected carers.

This will be a high-profile role with Greater Manchester authorities committed to increasing the quality and capacity of their fostering services. The number of fostering households available to care for our children is a key measure of success in the Greater Manchester Children’s Plan.

About you:

You will be a committed, innovative, confident and energetic leader dedicated to achieving positive change for children, families and foster carers across Greater Manchester. As a qualified and experienced Social Worker, you will also have significant experience as a manager and leader and a proven track record of success.

You will have experience of leading and delivering service review, redesign and transformation in the public sector, or in the independent sector.

You will be ready to take on the crucial task of inspiring and influencing your service and partners to achieve positive change and safety for children. You will have excellent knowledge on local government frameworks and processes as well as relevant legislation and be used to running high performing services.

You will have excellent communication skills both verbally and written and be confident in delivering information to a range of audiences. You will also be equipped to lead change, influence others, maintain partnerships, influence and inspire teams.
