Your role:


You will have a key role in our strategic work to support unpaid carers across the borough, ensuring effective support systems are in place. This is a really exciting opportunity to join a brilliant team and make a real difference to residents in the borough. You will support the implementation of key local, regional and national priorities including Wigan's Carers Strategy, reporting to Partnership Board on progress and challenges.

You will lead on the engagement, involvement and empowerment of unpaid carers to understand the challenges and barriers they face, and gaps in service provision. Building partnerships with external organisations in order to identify mutually beneficial opportunities for joint working on priorities for unpaid carers across the borough.

About you:

You will be a creative, passionate, and driven individual who is committed to the ongoing development of services, to improve outcomes for carers.

You will have an understanding of the life of a Carer and the challenges they face every day. You will be an engaging and outgoing individual with an ability to positively engage with people from in a wide range of forums.

You will have an understanding of The Deal for Adult Social Care and Health, the asset based approach and how to embed this approach in supporting Carers.
