Your role:

As an HR Advisor working in a  transactional payroll and HR role in the Employment Service Centre you will provide a payroll, pensions and HR transactional service to managers, employees, schools, academies and external organisations.

Your role is to provide a full recruit to pay service, pension administration and payroll processing service, ensuring all processes are accurate, compliant with current legislation and undertaken in a timely manner.

You will be expected to work with the wider HR & OD service, other Council departments, schools and partner organisations as necessary. You will also be required to work across all areas of the HR Employment Service Centre dependent on current project requirements.

About you:

You will have experience of working within a payroll and HR environment along with up to date knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation.

HR and OD Services is a large and fast-paced service and therefore experience of working within a busy office environment is essential along with the ability to prioritise your own workload, manage conflicting demands and work to tight deadlines.

Your excellent customer service skills will ensure you support colleagues and managers across the organisation to provide a seamless service.

The ability to analyse problems and generate innovative and appropriate solutions is essential, together with an accurate and methodical approach to your work.

You will have a proactive and positive attitude. The desire to identify improvements to systems and processes would be advantageous to this role.


You will have excellent IT skills and experience of using an integrated payroll and HR system would be an advantage.
