Wigan Athletic Community Trust is recruiting for a Football and Education Tutor to join its expanding Training and Skills team and manage all aspects of its Level 2 Football and Education programme including recruitment, teaching and coaching a cohort learners between the ages of 16 – 18.

You will:
•Lead on the delivery of all aspects of the Community Trust’s Level 2 Football and Education programme – including recruitment and teaching of learners between the ages of 16 – 18
•Ensure all lessons, including the planning, preparation and assessment of, are delivered to the standard required by funding partners and external verifiers
•Manage the Level 2 Football and Education learners involvement in the EFL Community and Education Football Alliance and liaise with other professional football clubs around football fixtures
•Provide mentoring and education support to a cohort of students as part of their foundation degree in football and sports coaching
•Provide teaching cover in case of holidays and sickness for other training and skills programmes delivered by the Community Trust.

The successful candidate will:
•Hold a PGCE in Further Education
•Be educated to degree standard or equivalent in sport or community development related subject
•Have experience of teaching within further education (can be gained through PGCE)
•Have the ability to empathise with young people and also challenge negative behaviours
