37 hours per week, term time plus two weeks, working 40 weeks per year

Lowton Church of England High School is a successful comprehensive school serving young people aged 11 to 16 in the Lowton, Leigh and Atherton communities. We are currently looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic person who will be able to take responsibility for the reception area and perform all related duties efficiently and effectively. The role also contributes to the administrative/finance support within the school, so good ICT and administrative skills are required. Working hours will be Monday 8.00am to 3.30pm, and Tuesday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy office environment,

  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff, external organisations, students and parents,

  • Excellent IT, administrative and organisational skills, with a willingness to undertake training where required,

  • The ability to prioritise workloads effectively, responding to ever-changing priorities and ad hoc tasks in a positive and people focused way,

  • Flexibility to cope with diverse needs of working in a school office environment,

  • High standards and attention to detail,

  • The ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information,

  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team,

  • The ability to relate well and build positive relationships with staff and key stakeholders,

  • A positive and people friendly approach,

  • Commitment to the pursuit of excellence in educational standards and quality.
