Salary: Apprentice wage, £7.83 per hour
The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements
37 hours per week
Temporary for up to 2 years
Your role:
As a Technical Apprentice you will be expected to gain experience of liaising and consulting with tenants, leaseholders, agencies, contractors and other interested parties, to support works of repair, resolve site issues and give advice and information as required.
You will learn how to inspect Council housing stock, provide detailed inspection records and create work orders for contractors where required. You will also gain extensive experience and knowledge of building defects and the remedies for repair.
You will also be required to spend a proportion of your time undertaking a relevant qualification and will gain a range of experience whilst learning from professionals within the organisation.
About you:
You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the ability to operate effectively as a member of a team, whilst accurately following working procedures.
You will have effective written and oral communication skills together with the ability to deal with both internal and external customers. You will also have the ability to plan and organised a complex workload with shifting deadlines in order to meet specific targets.
About us:
As part of this role you will undertake a Level 4 Diploma in Construction and Building Services Management & Supervision apprenticeship, which includes a BTEC HNC Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.
