The governors are looking to appoint a Lead First Aider to oversee the care of pupils, staff or visitors who are injured or unwell. The ideal candidate will be able to decide on the appropriate course of action and, in liaison with staff, implement that action.

     
The successful candidate will: 
  • Be a confident qualified first aider, dealing with the welfare of those taken ill or injured at school.
  • Set up and monitor pupils with specific medical conditions, involving day-to-day health planning and/or administering medication where appropriate.
  • Record and report accidents and incidents in accordance with regulatory guidelines and school policies.
  • Maintain first aid equipment and supplies around the school site.
  • Demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, pupils and the local community.
