Salary: Grade 12, £50,512 - £54,243 per annum.

Your role:

 

Together for Adoption is a Regional Adoption Agency working in partnership with Wigan, Halton, Warrington, Cheshire West and Chester and St Helen’s local authorities. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a panel adviser to join our team, working in a fast paced agency to improve outcomes for children.

 

Your role will involve working closely with the Recruitment and Assessment managers, the panel administrator and panel chairs to ensure that the matters considered by the panel are supported by high quality paperwork and robust discussion. You will also work with the wider Central List of panel members to undertake annual appraisals, offer learning and development opportunities and ensure that appropriately experienced and qualified panel members are recruited.     

 

About you:

 

You will be an excellent communicator, and a strong supportive team member, who can work collaboratively with colleagues’ strengths. You will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment and be confident in your position as professional adviser to the panel to ensure improved service developments and positively challenge when standards, service delivery or practice needs to be reviewed.

 

You are required to have a knowledge base of adoption legislation and guidance and will be expected to apply consistently high standards in respect of procedure and practices to ensure better outcomes for children and their families.

 

We require a candidate who has a professional background in children and families, adoption or fostering work, with a varied range of skills and experience in social work.

 

The post holder will be an experienced Social Worker, who has worked at the level of a senior social worker, manager or practice educator or is able to evidence experience in quality assurance, mentoring and support. You will be registered with Social Work England and will safeguard and protect vulnerable children and adults in accordance with Together for Adoption policies and procedures at all times.

The post holder will join a lively, supportive and committed management team and will be supported to further develop their skills, knowledge and experience through effective training and regular supervision. The work will be varied and will give the opportunity to be involved in panel development and training.
