Statutory Compliance Inspection Officer Asbestos

Salary: Grade 8, £32,020 - £36,298 per annum

 

37 hours per week

 

Your role:


You will support the Building Services Statutory Compliance Manager in ensuring the management of Asbestos with our key stakeholders, including employees, contractors and customers.


You will effectively manage stakeholder and customer enquiries, providing clear, supportive and accurate advice, identifying and escalating complaints and enquiries via the appropriate channels to ensure effective resolution.


You will manage the Council’s asbestos register and statutory certification, ensuring that asset lists are routinely validated and records kept up to date and shared appropriately.


You will offer appropriate internal and external training along with guidance to all employees and ensure that the team’s training is up to date and complies with their individual roles.

 

About you:


You will be enthusiastic about Asbestos management and have extensive experience in this field. You will understand how important it is to ensure that occupiers are safe and aware of the risks associated with asbestos management.


You will hold appropriate asbestos qualifications in Surveying & Sampling and Management of Asbestos in Buildings, along with having extensive experience in asbestos surveying and supervision of asbestos projects in the public or private sectors.


You will be a great communicator who has the confidence to liaise with a range of people both internal and external to the organisation. You will be able to challenge yourself, exploring development opportunities to improve the service and minimise the risk.

The Statutory Compliance team are a small but enthusiastic team of professionals who deliver compliance across the councils Corporate Property & Housing stock. We manage asbestos, legionella, fire risk assessments and electrical testing for the council. The team are passionate about the work they do and provide an environment in which you can develop.
