Salary: Grade 5, £18,467 - £20,601 per annum. £11.80 - £13.17 per hour

 

5 positions x 30 hours per week

 

Your role:

 

To ensure the health, well-being and safety of customers during unsociable hours and be responsible for the property.  Respond accordingly to any needs of the 12 customers that live at the property. Work alongside another waking night if required to sleep-in. To be part of a specialist team of support workers to support customers with Autism and people who can present challenges to live the life they choose in a new purpose-built building.

 

About You:

 

You will be required to work as part of a team and communicate effectively to the day staff ensuring verbal and written communication is completed.  You will be required to work on a rota basis which will include weekends and bank holidays. About you:  You will be willing or already hold a Care Certificate (or equivalent qualification) or have an equivalent level of experience and be committed to undertake training in Autism and other training that would be relevant to your post.  You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with other professionals, agencies and families developing the trust respect and cooperation in providing high quality care. You must have the ability to support individuals with Autism and complex support needs and challenging behaviour. You will be committed to the development of the service. You must have a positive attitude, work alongside others, and have an asset-based approach, focusing on what people can do as opposed to cannot. Be committed to achieving out-comes for inidiviuals.

Supported Living Services form part of our People Directorate under Adult social Care. Our workforce provides support to adults with learning disabilities in the Wigan and Leigh area in various models/types of accommodation. Mayfield House Centre of Excellence for Adults with Autism is the first specialist accommodation which is designed specifically for people with Autism. This is a modern, state-of-the-art  building which is appropriately adapted to meet customers’ needs. You will receive specific training provided by both in house training providers, external, work closely with Maybo and have opportunity to achieve ongoing professional development.

 

The format of the interview will be via an assessment where you will have an opportunity to meet some of the customers, the team and look round the place of work.
